This Privacy Policy explains how the Adulting app ("Adulting," "the app," "we," "us") handles your information. Adulting is an independent app built to help people learn practical life and money skills. Your privacy matters, and the app is designed to keep your personal data on your device wherever possible.
Most of what you enter into Adulting stays on your device using Apple's on-device storage. This includes information such as your budget, tracked expenses, debts and payment plans, credit score entries, jobs and income details, goals, tax records, roommate and household information, and your progress through checklists and lessons. We do not have access to this information, and it is not transmitted to our servers.
Some features in Adulting use artificial intelligence to provide responses, analysis, or guidance. These features include the Adulting Assistant, Resume Studio, the Job Post Verifier, and the Paycheck Analyzer.
When you use one of these features, the text or document content you provide for that feature (for example, a question you type, a resume you upload, a job posting you paste, or a paycheck you submit) is sent to the Anthropic API in order to generate a response. This processing is necessary to provide the feature.
Anthropic processes this data to return a result. Anthropic's handling of API data is governed by its own policies. You can review Anthropic's privacy practices at https://www.anthropic.com/legal/privacy. We do not retain copies of your AI submissions on our own servers; any saved results (such as a saved resume analysis) are stored locally on your device.
Please avoid submitting information you do not wish to be processed by a third-party AI service, such as full government identification numbers or passwords, when using these features.
Adulting offers an optional paid subscription ("Pro"). Subscriptions are processed by Apple through the App Store. We do not collect or store your payment card details. Apple handles billing and provides us only with the information necessary to confirm and manage your subscription status. Apple's handling of your information is governed by Apple's privacy policy.
If you participate in beta testing through Apple's TestFlight, Apple may collect crash logs and basic usage information to help improve app stability. This is handled by Apple and governed by Apple's privacy policy. Any analytics used in the app are limited to understanding general app stability and performance, not identifying you personally.
Adulting is intended for users aged 13 and older. It is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If you believe a child under 13 has provided information through the app, please contact us so we can address it.
Because your personal data is stored on your device, you remain in control of it. You can delete your data at any time through the app's reset option, or by deleting the app, which removes the locally stored information from your device. We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. When we do, we will revise the "Last updated" date at the top of this page. Continued use of the app after changes take effect means you accept the updated policy.
